Funding Sources
There are a number of potential funding sources for SUN-WIN education and research collaborations. Interested applicants may take a close look at these programs.
 
    Ontario-jiangsu Student Exchange Program (OJS)

The OJS student exchange program provides students in participating Ontario, Canada and Jiangsu, China universities, the opportunity to spend up to one year of non-degree study in the “sister” province.

    Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation - International Strategic Opportunities Program
The International Strategic Opportunities Program (ISOP) provides funding for strategic international collaborations between Ontario research institutions and the global research community. The goal of the program is to improve Ontario’s long-term economic potential by attracting and retaining the best and brightest research talent.

    Ontario-China Research and Innovation Fund (OCRIF)
The Government of Ontario and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People's Republic of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Research and Innovation Cooperation (MOU) to promote scientific, technological and industrial research and commercialization cooperation. The Government of Ontario is now launching a Call for Proposals for scientific and technological collaboration projects. A lead Ontario applicant must form a dedicated team, including at least one lead Chinese partner and at least one Ontario-based private-sector partner.

    China-Canada Joint Health Research Initiative
 
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) jointly fund the development of scientific cooperation between universities, hospitals, research institutes and affiliated research organizations in Canada and China through the support of collaborative research grants. To date, CIHR and NSFC have co-funded 89 joint research projects. The renewal of the partnership will further support up to 45 new research projects for an additional CIHR commitment of approximately $10 million.

    China Scholarship Council

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is a non-profit institution with legal person status affiliated with the Ministry of Education. The objective of the CSC is to provide, in accordance with the law, statutes and relevant principles and policies of China, financial assistance to the Chinese citizens wishing to study abroad and to the foreign citizens wishing to study in China in order to develop the educational, scientific and technological, and cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between China and other countries, to strengthen the friendship and understanding between Chinese people and the people of all other countries, and to promote world peace and the socialist modernization drive in China.
